Norwich Puppet Theatre

This iconic venue, housed in the Medieval Church of St James’, turns 40 this December (2020) and continues to present family and adult puppet shows as well as fantastic creative workshops.

With puppet adorned walls, a star strewn auditorium and fairy-lit foyer, Norwich Puppet Theatre creates a magical first experience of theatre for young audience members. It also provides a unique setting for evening performances and hires, including weddings and birthdays.

As well as hosting public performances and events, the Theatre also has an extensive community and outreach programme, sharing the joy of puppetry with audiences throughout Norfolk and beyond.

The Theatre’s touring company takes the Norwich name across the UK and even around the world, with productions adapted from children’s books and traditional tales.

During lockdown, the Theatre has created a new Online Puppet Theatre, aiming to inspire audiences with creative activities that they can do at home. They also have an exciting new series of online performances of Roald Dahl’s Dirty Beasts and Revolting Rhymes poems, available from August – December 2020.
